About

Hallo! My name is Claudia Brouwer (Cañedo Cázarez). Music and teaching are my passion and I love to share it!

I have nearly 20 years of experience as a music and piano teacher in different countries and work now as a private teacher and freelance pianist  in Groningen, NL.

During these years I have worked with hundreds of students of all ages in different educational contexts and focus now on beginners and intermediate level students of all ages including 3 years old children.

I studied music pedagogy at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico) and Piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London (United Kingdom).

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from the Maastricht Conservatorium (Netherlands) and a Master Degree in Educational Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

I am interested in neuropedagogy, neurosciences of music and research based music education. My master thesis was dedicated to research music and dyslexia and other cognitive problems. I keep doing private research on different aspects of piano learning and development of kindergarten age children.

My playing goes from light music, covers, classic and  improvisations. I write piano music for beginners and intermediate level players as well as arrangements and pedagogical works.

If you want lessons for yourself of your children, please visit the piano lessons page for more information and booking a free trial lesson.
